The
first project was implemented on Jivan Nirmaya Pradarshan
on 1st of May 1998 for a period of 15 days. More
than 550 patient's data was transferred from Rajkot and Gandhinagar
to Ahmedabad through telephone
lines.
The telemedicine system was installed at Bhuj Military
hospital and Ahmedabad Military hospital on 20th
December, 1999. The System works on telephone
line and works reliably.

Indian Defense Service
|
|
 |
| |
|
|
In December 1999,
we had installed Telemedicine System in the desert
areas of Kutch, i.e. Military Hospital, Bhuj, which
was connected with the receiving unit at the Main
Military Hospital at Ahmedabad and they transfer
data and images for the different purposes.
We transmitted data of several patients.
This was later extended to Air Force Hospital at Gandhinagar. Government of Gujarat funded this pilot
project. Indian Defense forces have received
it
very well
and there are all indications that they would like
to extend the services to the entire country.

Earthquake
in Gujarat
|
|
 |
| |
|
|
After the earthquake disaster in Gujarat
on 26th
January 2001, thousands of
people lost their lives and over 1,00,000 were
injured. On the
very next day, i.e. 27th January 2001, we had established
our first communication system from Bhuj. Within
next 4 days we established Disaster Management
System along with telemedicine transmission from Rapar, Bhachau, Gandhidham, Anjar and Ahmedabad
with the control room at Gandhinagar. Through this
system, we could transfer important information,
data, medical needs etc with videoconferencing.

Rehabilitation
Project for The Earthquake Victims
|
|
 |
| |
|
|
After the fury of
Earthquake was over the challenge was to
begin health provisions for the earthquake victims since
the basic infrastructure of health providers were
shattered. The area required basic and transitional
healthcare units before the permanent arrangements
could be made. During this long -term project,
the
total healthcare period was 3 to
6 months. It was followed by physiotherapy and rehabilitation. We placed 45
centers to provide
healthcare from the transitional bases at Anjar,
Rapar, Bhuj, Gandhidham, Bhachau, Rental etc.
However the long term planning is to establish such
centers in Kutch District to perpetually provide modern medical treatment
cheaply and quickly. |
